Latchford, James –

Of 43, Egerton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 39 as an absentee from Wellsby, Grimsby since 21/01/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 31/01/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Latimer, Francis –

Son of Vincent Barton Latimer and Alice Hampson Latimer, of “Springholme”, Red Wharf Bay, Pentraeth, Anglesey.

Lawless, Thomas –

NOTE:- 28/05/2013 – Recent research has shown that Private Lawless is buried here (Weaste Cemetery). The Commission is in the process of producing a special memorial to commemorate him as it is not possible to mark his actual grave.

Son of Sir Joseph Cocksey Lee; husband of Lilian Lee, Of Horsley House, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey. Of the firm of Messrs. Tootal Broadhurst Lee & Co. Died of wounds received in Gallipoli on 04/06/1915 while commanding the 127th (Manchester Territorial Force (Infantry)) Brigade, 42nd Division. Died at the Blue Sisters’ Hospital in Malta.
