Son of Leslie and Gladys Mary Atherton, of Horwich, Lancashire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School.

Bailey, Gilbert –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bailey, of Belvedere Road, Ainsdale, Southport, Lancashire; nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Greenhalgh, furniture brokers, of 87, Derby Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded aged 26 at the Dardanelles.

Husband of Mary Bailey (nee Barlow), of 49, Moorfield Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly King’s Shropshire Light Infantry; King’s Liverpool Regiment; Labour Corps; Training Reserve Bn. Wounded by gunshot in the chest (right lung) and left foot.
