Doctor, of Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. Divisional Surgeon of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Served at Queen Mary’s Military Hospital, Whalley. Appointed assistant medical officer at Townleys Military Hospital.

Johnstone, James William –

A doctor, qualified at Glasgow University and practiced in Bolton, resided at Annadale, 46, Manchester Road, Bolton, Lancashire (c.1907-c.1923)

Johnstone, Thomas Boston –

Son of Thomas B Johnstone, a Presbyterian Minister, who resided at 116, Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly medical officer of the 12th Bn., Manchester Regiment. and medical officer of the Machine Gun School in Gallipoli. Appointed in charge of the No.3 Advanced Depot of Medical Stores at the General Headquarters in France.

Jolley, Vincent –

Son of Thomas and Catherine Jolley, of 24, Tetlow Grove, Patricroft, Lancashire. Formerly of Liverpool, Lancashire. Died of nepritis in 26 General Hospital, Etaples, France.

Of 12, Factory Hill, Horwich, Lancashire. Reported wounded and in hospital at Alexandria, Egypt, and doing very well.

Jones, George –

Of 89, Morris Green Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 31 as an absentee from Blackpool since 17/03/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 21/03/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Jones, John –

Son of the late Richard Jones, of 147, Manchester Road, Whittlebrook, Walkden, Lancashire, and formerly of 1, Sharp Street, Walkden, Lancashire. A member of the Walkden Branch of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Enlisted May 1915. Died suddenly and unexpectedly at King George’s Hospital, London, where he was stationed as an orderly.
