Of 18, Steel Street, Bolton, Lancashire. A member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Enlisted June 1915.

Smith, Samuel –

Husband of Mrs. Smith, of 44, Nuttall Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the Markets Department of the Bolton Corporation. A member of the Great Lever Division of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. At University War Hospital, Southampton in January 1916. Missing and believed drowned in the loss of the transport Transylvania.

Husband of Nurse Ada Smith (nee Marchant), of 92, Harrowby Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915. Served in Malta in July 1918.

Southworth, George –

Husband of Mrs. Southworth, of 5, Scarborough Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded 02/10/1917 by a bullet in the back and treated at the War Hospital at Whalley.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Spedding, of 79, Victory Street, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a Passenger Porter at Bolton.

Son of Edmund and Katherine Spencer, of 114, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. A member of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Died of pneumonia in the Lord Derby Military Hospital, Warrington.

Stallard, Herbert –

Son of Mr. Stallard, of 12, Delamere Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Lilly Stallard, of 192, New Chester Road, Port Sunlight, Cheshire. Formerly a Fireman with the Bolton Fire Brigade. Enlisted 1914. Three years in France as stretcher bearer. Died from the effects of gas poisoning.
