Husband of Mary Alice Bortfield (nee Holmes). of 6, Charles Holden Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 219, Bark Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Police Constable 180 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 26/04/1911 until enlistment for War Service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/185). Returned to the police force 20/01/1919.

Appeared aged 30 before Bolton Magistrates 22/11/1917 charged with being an absentee from Blackpool since 11/11/1917, and also with theft of a ladies wristlet watch of value 9/- from 33, Lum Street, Bolton, Lancashire, the property of Alice Ann Addison on 12/11/1917. The absentee charge was withdrawn and him found guilty of the theft and sentenced to imprisonment of 3 months with hard labour. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).

Brabin, George –

Son of James and Elizabeth Hannah Brabin, of 71, Central Avenue, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 42, Harrowby Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Brought home with cancer in the knee. Died at Frodsham Military Hospital. Interred in Farnworth Cemetery.
