Previously enlisted at Bolton 21/08/1915 as Private 6048, 3rd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, subsequently Private 4146, 4th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, and dischagred 20/08/1916 as under age. Subsequently re-enlisted.

Son of Walter and Harriet Ellen Lawton, of 19, Junction Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted as Private 11781, 6th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Horwich 25/08/1914 and discharged 25/09/1914 as not likely to become an efficient soldier.

Of 133, Starcliffe Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Private 2514 and Corporal 240751, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded 09/08/1916. Reported missing, and subsequently confirmed wounded by shrapnel and in the No.1. Canadian General Hospital. Commissioned 30/04/1918.

Leigh, Edmund Alexander (Alec) –
