Son of William and Eliza Ann Walker (nee Roscoe), of 34, Horrocks Street, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously Private 2998, Lancashire Fusiliers, joined regular Army Service Corps 19/11/1909. Transferred to reserve 18/11/1911.

Wallace, Thomas Richard Charles –

Son of ex-Colour Sergeant Thomas and Mrs. Wallace, of Linnet Hall, Starlings, Ainsworth, Lancashire. Served with the Lancashire Fusiliers in the South African Campaign.

Walmsley, Norman –

Husband of Mrs. Walmsley, of 54, Astley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 203880, 1st/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded on 30/07/1917 and underwent an operation. No.1 Canadian Hospital. Transferred to Royal Army Service Corps 26/07/1918. Cousin of Sergeant Stanley Unsworth, also wounded.

Walsh, Alfred –

Son of Michael Walsh; husband of Hannah Walsh (nee Higging), of 12, Back York Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 36, George Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previous service as Private 4216, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment time-expired. Formerly Private 2976, 1st Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, discharged 28/03/1916 due to wounds, having suffered gunshot wound to head. Re-joined as Private 399844, Royal Army Service Corps. Caught aged 43 multiple times as an absentee appearing before Bolton Magistrates to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29). Died of pneumonia in hospital at Woolwich.
