Son of Martha Topham, of 56, Salisbury Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Gunner 1933, 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Torkington, Thomas Henry –

Of 7, Devonshire Road, Bolton, Lancashire. “Well known as a car conductor on the Brownlow Fold route, Gunner Thos. H. Torkington (27) is stated by the chaplain to have been killed on April 25th while going to the assistance of two mates who had been buried alive. His mother, Mrs. Mort, lives at 7, Devonshire Street. Torkington met his death just a year from the day he joined the Royal Field Artillery”. (BJ&G: 25.05.17).
