Son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bold, of 404, Manchester Road East, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Wounded by gunshot in the right hand at Gallipoli 28/12/1915 and removed to the 17th General Hospital at Alexandria, Egypt.

Of 158, Zion Street, Radcliffe, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Caught aged 22 as an absentee from Heytesbury, Wiltshire since 08/11/1915 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 13/11/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
