Of 21, Newton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915.

Wright, James –

Son of William and Grace Wright, of 48, Russell Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mabel M. Wright, of 28, Ivy Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Educatiuon Offices for 25 years. Formerly Private, S4/125670, Royal Army Service Corps, enlisting July 1915. Transferred to RFA December 1916. Severely wounded in the legs and arm 31/08/1917 resulting in amputation of one leg. Subsequently died of his wounds.

Wright, James –

Wounded and admitted to hospital with gunshot wounds to the neck, October 1915. He had only just turned 17 years of age, having been granted special request to accompany his battery to the front although officially under age for foreign service.

Wright, James Percy –

Of 49, Ellenborough Road, Hillsborough, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Formerly Battery Sergeant Major 21241, Royal Field Artillery. Commissioned at the Dardanelles.

Wright, Percy W –

Formerly served with the Royal Horse Artillery for 12 years, with service for seven years in India. Transferred to the Royal Field Artillery at Bolton as an Battery Sergeant Major Instructor.

NOTE:- Served as John FRANCES. Son of Frances Wright, of 41, Oak Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Of Bank Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Marked as deserted and rejoined on Medal Card. Also commemorated on Face 2 of the Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, in India. Surname recorded as FRANCIS on CWGC.

Husband of Mrs. Wrigley, of 14, Gresham Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a shunter for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.

Son of Louisa Yarrow (nee Harland), of 9, Ivy Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Matthew Yarrow. Formerly Driver 952, Royal Field Artillery.

Of 38, Hardy Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 38 as an absentee from Preston since 29/12/1914 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 04/01/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25).
