Son of William and Elizabeth Boustead, of Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire; son-in-Law of James and Frances Kerfoot (formerly Higson, nee Ardill), of 129, St. George’s Road, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Florence Boustead (nee Higson or Kerfoot). Formerly of the Bee Hive, Bark Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Mistakenly reported in BJ&G under the name Sam Boustead to have been killed in the Dardanelles in 1915. Formerly Shoeing Smith Corporal 1891, Royal Field Artillery; Corporal 78816, Royal Defence Corps.

Son of John and Margaret Brandwood, of 2, Cambridge Road, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. Resided at 12, Wardle Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Police Constable 42 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 15/04/1909 before enlisting for military service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/165). Promoted Corporal 25/05/1917. A brother, Jack, served in France.
