Crompton, Alfred –

Son of Alfred and Eleanor Crompton, of 24, Simpson Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly worked for the Bolton Chronicle. Two brothers also served.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Crompton, of 11, Newton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Resided at 11, Bride Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Police Constable 31 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 21/10/1909 until enlistment for military service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/169). Returned to his police duties 16/01/1919.

Crowder, John –

Son of the late George Crowder and the late Elizabeth Crowder (nee Wharmby), of Little Hulton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Crowder, of 91, Ellesmere Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died of pneumonia at Casualty Clearing Station, shortly prior to discharge. Brother served in the Manchester Regiment. arriving home to Little Hulton, Lancashire, on the day John died.
