Gaskell, Joesph –

Son of Hannah Gaskell, of 372, Derby Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Later of 26, Loxham Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Driver 1068, Royal Field Artillery.

Gaskell, William –

Of 37, Hough Lane, Eagley, Turton, Lancashire. Severely wounded and in hospital at Rouen. Two brothers also serving.

Gastall, Leonard Whitehead –

Son of George and Mary Elizabeth Gastall, of Crown Lane, Horwich, Lancashire; husband of Annie Gastall (nee Simmons), of 27, Brownlow Road, Horwich, Lancashire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Formerly an apprentice at Horwich Loco Works. Wounded on 06/10/1916.

Gavan, Robert –

Of 89a, Lever Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Formerly Gunner 1949, Royal Field Artillery.

Gee, Ralph Edward –

Son of Samuel and Mary Jane Lee, of Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Alice Clayton Lee, of 101, Holland Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served in the Boer War with the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Enlisted February 1915.

Gee, Arthur Giles –

Son of Arthur Cooke Gee and Evelena Gee (nee Briercliffe), formerly of Kearsley, Lancashire; husband of Ellen Leah Gee (nee Widdowson), of Tower Hill, Witney, Oxfordshire. An old boy of the Farnworth Grammar School.

Gee, Ezra –

Son of Ezra and Alice Gee, of 16, Johnson Street, Bank Lane, Pendlebury, Lancashire. Formerly 3730, Lancashire Fusiliers.

Gerrard, Ernest –

Husband of Mrs. Gerrard, of 22, Battenberg Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Worked for ten years a driver on the Dunscar and Farnworth routes for the Bolton Corporation Tramways Department. Enlisted April 1915. A fire broke out close to some ammunition, and in attempting to warn a comrade of the danger, both were caught in the explosion of the ammunition and killed.

Gerrard, George –

Of 14, Blackledge Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Cannot find under service number 3734. Possibly died August 1925 aged 35 years at 14 Blackledge Street and interred at Bolton (Heaton) Cemetery on 13/08/1925 in grave CW. 3. H10. 24.

Gillibrand, H –

Of 33, Charles Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915.

Gillooley, Joseph –

Of 3, Taylor Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught as an absentee from Lewisbury Battacks, Bordon since 09/08/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/08/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27).
