Housley, William –

Son of Mrs. E. Hulme (formerly Housley) and the late John Housley, of 5, Taskers Lane, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted aged 16 in October 1914. Wounded in the foot 11/07/1916. Killed when hit in the head when a shell fell on a building he was working in.

Howcroft, David –

Husband of Ruth Howcroft (nee Shipperbottom), of 38, Dearden Street, Little Lever, Lancashire, and formerly of 27, Hill Top, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Wounded May 1917 by shrapnel in left leg. Returned to England on hospital ship St. Andrew.

Hudson, Albert –

Son of George and Nancy Hudson, of the Arden Arms Hotel, Millgate, Stockport, Cheshire. Formerly a butcher of Wigan Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Killed by a bomb dropped by an enemy aeroplane.

Hudson, Edward Kearsley (Ted) –

Son of George and Nancy Hudson, of Arden Arms Hotel, Millgate, Stockport, Cheshire. Former footballer with Manchester United F.C. Home service only.

Hulme, Philip Henry –

Son of Watson and Hannah Hulme, of Manchester, Lancashire; husband of Madeline Hulme, of 259, Great Western Street, Moss Side, Manchester, Lancashire.

Hulme, William –

Son of W. H. and A. Hulme; husband of Hannah Sarah Hulme (nee McMahon), of 515, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Died from pneumonia following influenza.

Hurst, Thomas –

Husband of Mrs. Hurst, of 7, Hodgkiss Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 136th County Palatine Heavy Battery, RGA. Died of Malaria and Bronchitis in British General Hospital, Amara.

Son of James William and Clara Ireland, of Broughton House, 18, Clarendon Road, Eccles, Lancashire.

Jackson, Benjamin –

Husband of Elizabeth Jackson, of 20, Pownall Street, Upper Medlock Street, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire.

Jepson, John –

Husband of Annie Jepson, of 30, Bowness Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Wounded 16/01/1917 and succumbed to these exactly one month later.
