Son of Mr. C. W. Norris, timber merchant of Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Previously served as a Corporal in the Yeomanry. Formerly Sergeant, Royal Engineers. Granted temporary commission.

Porteous, Dennis Reid –

Only son of George Bertram and Ellen Porteous, of 44, Hilden Street, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 8, Hawthorne Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute (1907-1909).

Eldest son of James and Annie Sharples, of 429, Blackburn Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 71, Grasmere Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Also commemorated on Face 16 of Madras 1914-1918 War Memorial, Chennai, India.

Swallow, Sydney Herbert –

Second son of Rev. John Edward and Elizabeth Swallow, minister of the United Methodist Hanover Circuit, Bolton, Lancashire. Prisoner of war in Germany, and transferred to Scheveningen in Holland in May 1918.
