Roper, Frank William –

Husband of Margaret Roper (nee Waterson), of 44, Autumn Street, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of 19, Ashton Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a railway signalman. Mobilised as a reservist and went out to France 13/08/1914. Reported captured 24/08/1914 and Le Cateau, and prisoner of war and held at Doeberitz Camp, Germany.

Shaw, John –

Son of Thomas Charles and Ellen Shaw, of 45, Melbourne Street, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly 12408, Reserve Regiment of Cavalry.

Simm, Hugh –

Husband of the late Elizabeth Grace Alice Simm (nee Mills), of 171, Hindley Road, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire, and subsequently husband of Maud Simm (formerly Hope). Previously served 21 years with the 3rd Bn., South Lancashire Regiment. Home service only.

Son of Peter Southern, of 12, Burlington Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Sergeant 711099, 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Attached Army Gymnastics Staff as Sergeant Instructor since 18/04/1917.
