Son of Mary Place, of 18, Leinster Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Andrew Place; husband of Mary Place, of Grove Cottage, Nob End, Little Lever, Lancashire. Formerly 4601, Monmouthshire Regiment. Died in a London hospital from wounds received in France.

Powell, John Edward –

Of 62, Old Road, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 27 as an absentee from Knowsley Park, Prescott since 27/05/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 14/06/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Prescott, of 14, Angle Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. Posted missing since 30/05/1918, and confirmed captured and prisoner of war in Saxony.

Son of Jack and Sarah Annie Pye, of Prestwich, Lancashire.

Quinlan, John –

Of 43, Dean Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted at Bolton 30/11/1914 as Private 18437, 3rd Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and discharged as unfit due to defective vision. Re-enlisted March 1915.

Ramsden, James –

Of 30, Lupton Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 30, Argyll Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Caught aged 28 as an absentee from Rhyl since 17/06/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/06/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Ramsden, Joseph –

Eldest of three sons of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ramsden, of 7, Joseph Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Killed by a sniper.
