Whittaker, Nimrod –

Son of Lewis and Ellen Whittaker, of 14, Sutcliffe Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a conductor on the Bolton Corporation Tramways. Enlisted October 1915.

Whittle, Fred Knowles –

Son of John and Ellen Whittle (nee Knowles), of 50, Bradshaw Brow, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Returned from Massachusetts in order to enlist in February 1915. Wounded in the head August 1917.

Whittle, Thomas –

Son of James Charles and Sarah Elizabeth Whittle, of 23, Bashall Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly in the employ of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company in the wire department. Hit in the head and back by shrapnel and killed instantly. Brother Richard (Dick) served in France.

Of 62, Gorton Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915.

Wilde, Herbert –

Son of John and Alice Wilde, of 13, Brandwood Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire.

Wilkinson, Harry –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Warrell, of 20, Old Birtle, Bury, Lancashire. Formerly of 15, Water Lane Street, Radcliffe, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915.

Williams, Henry (Harry) –

Eldest son of Lettice Williams, of 28, Ormrod Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late James Williams. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a fireman at Crescent Road loco shed. Enlisted February 1915.

Wolsoncroft, Walter –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wolsoncroft, of 121, Starcliffe Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915.

Wolstencroft, Samuel –

Son of Thomas and Emily Wolstencroft (nee Fletcher), of 30, Oak Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 11669, 6th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Incorrectly recorded as WOLSONCROFT on CWGC and local newspapers.

Of 58, Noble Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1915.
