Ackerley, William –

Son of William Ackerley. William married Frances Lovett 01/02/1919 and they lived at 9, Hutchinson Street, Salford, Lancashire. At the time William attested in February 1918 he was attached to the Manchester Regiment, 53rd Bn. At this time William was living at 2 Sunnyside Street, Salford, Lancashire. He was transferred to the York and Lancaster Regiment 16/08/1918 and his service record shows that he was detained as a prisoner of war for a short period in 1918. On 17/02/1921 he re-enlisted at Salford into the 8th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers (3437539 / 3438021) on one years service, and at this time he was living at 22, Mottram Street, Salford, Lancashire.

Beckett, Percy –

Husband of Mrs. F. E. Beckett, of 280, Outwood Road, Ringley, Stoneclough, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1916 into the Royal Field Artillery. Shot in the shoulder 14/06/1917.

Son of Mr. William Beswick, of Manchester Road East, Little Hulton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs Beswick, of 1, Back Foundry Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Mosley Common Colliiery. Enlisted September 1914.

Brown, Harold Victor –

Eldest son of Mrs. Matts, of 286, Walkden Road, Worsley, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly 7318 / 243060, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in the head, abdomen, and legs by shrapnel.

Son of Thomas Chapman, and of Mary Elizabeth Chapman, of Kersal, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly Lancashire Fusiliers.

Collier, William –

Of 54, Back Haydock Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught as an absentee from Colsterdale Camp, York since 23/09/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 27/11/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27).

Delaney, William –

Husband of Charlotte Delaney (nee Lever), of 37, Back Foundry Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 23, Foundry Court, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 24313, 3rd/5th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment and presumably discharged prior to re-enlistment May 1916 in York and Lancaster Regiment. Caught multiple times as an absentee appearing before Bolton Magistrates to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26 & JBO/1/27 & JBO/1/29).
