Bramley, Phillip Edward Laughton –

Son of Francis Edward and Ethel Amelia Bramley (nee Berry), of 401, Church Road, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Marguerite Bramley. Formerly Royal Naval Air Service. Transferred to Royal Air Force on formation as Private 137154, and later promoted Sergeant. Re-enlisted for service in WWII and served 1939 to 1946.

Bromley, Harry Leighton –

Third son of Arthur Paul and Susannah Bromley, of Sharples Park, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of The Oldhams, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Served as Private 2562, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and Lance Corporal 23790, Machine Gun Corps before being commissioned 26/05/1917.

Cornwell, James Lawrence –

Son of Charles Henry and Jane Cornwell; husband of Lilian Cornwell. Employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a driver. A member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Formerly Senior Sick Berth Attendant M8381 (Dev.), Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve. Mobilised as a reservist in WWII.

Crumblehulme, Frederic Lees –

Husband of Phyllis Crumblehulme, of 2347, 6th Street East, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and formerly of 1138, Galdstone Avenue, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Previously served as Regimental Questermaster Sergeant 80175, 31st Infantry Battalion, Canadian Imperial Forces in World War, enlisted 03/03/1915 and demobilised 01/06/1919. Signed up for service 15/06/1940 and was demobilised 10/10/1945. Died 08/05/1947 at Colonel Belcher’s Hospital, Calgary, Alberta from aspiration pneumonia rt. with left pneumothorax. Death due to service.

Dillon, Thomas Anton –

Eldest son of Thomas Germaine and Alice Dillon, of 59, Willows Lane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Evelyn Dillon (nee Chadwick), of Preston, Lancashire. Formerly Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry; formerly Sergeant, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Commissioned 24/11/1914, Second Lieutenant, 8th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Served in the 3rd/1st King’s African Rifles in WWI. Also served throughout WWII.

Fallows, Albert Edward –

Son of Cllr. Edward Fallows and Mary Alice Fallows, of Prospect House, Harwood, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Mary Fallows, of Bournemouth, Hampshire. An old boy of the Ridgways Endowed School and the Bolton Church Institute. B.C.E. Enlisted October 1916 as Private and commissioned September 1917, Royal Garrison Artillery. Wounded in the mouth by a bomb fragment and hospitalised at Rouen and London, November 1917. His father served in East Africa in WW1.

Fulton, Charles Fredrick Vernon –

Son of Colonel Fredrick Charles Fulton and Hester Kathleen Fulton; husband of Nora Minnette Fulton, of Durban, Natal, South Africa. Played as a Second Lieutenant in a football match in October 1916 for the 2nd/10th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment, against a team from the 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Harvey, Norman –

Son of Charles William and Mary Harvey; husband of Nora Osmond Harvey (nee Treadwell), of Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire. WWI: Enlisted in 1914 aged 15 as Private 3036, South Lancashire Regiment, later transferred to Private 42954, 1st Bn., Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. WW2: Killed at Haifa, Palestine.
