Son of Frederick Richard and M. E. Wood, of 54, Lonsdale Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted in January 1916 in the 6th Reserve Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in an accident whilst completing training in flying a seaplane. Younger brother Fred served in the Royal Fusiliers.
