Yates, Herbert –

Son of the late William Yates, and of Alice Yates (nee Rose); husband of Mary Ellen Yates (nee Carson), of 20, Haigh Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 49, Union Road, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1914. Posted missing since 09/08/1915. Two brothers also served.

Son of Eli and Mary Ann Yates, of 8, Fleet Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Emily Yates (nee Booth or Cooper), of 42, Newry Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted 1904 into the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment and almost immediately transferred to the West Riding Regiment. Activated from Reserve 05/08/1914. Wounded 31/10/1914 in leg and arm.
