Yates, Joseph –

Son of John Thomas and Sarah Jane Yates; husband of Sarah Ellen Yates, of 7, Manchester Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Memorial in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard.

Yates, Joseph William –

Husband of Sarah Yates (nee Lawton), of 3, Crescent Court, Albert Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Attestation papers front page name reads as John William, but recorded as Joseph William on other pages and all other records.

Yates, Joseph Wright –

Son of Esther Ann Yates (nee Lees), of 13, Penn Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late James Thomas Yates. Enlisted February 1916. Wounded 25/12/1917. Captured prisoner of war 12/04/1918.

Yates, Lewis –

Son of John and Mary Yates, of 41, Haworth Street, Radcliffe, Lancashire, and later of 21, Darbyshire Street, Radcliffe, Lancashire. Body not recovered for burial.

Yates, Moses –

Husband of Sarah Jane Yates, of 135, Cemetery Road, Kearsley, Lancashire, and formerly of 34, Macdonald Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Returned from America to rejoin his regiment as a reservist at the outbreak of war. Died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, received in the Dardanelles, but died shortly after arrival at hospital in Alexandria.
