Seddon, James –

Son of John and Lucy Annie Seddon, of 140, Peel Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Died of wounds at the 48th Clearing Station, France.

Shackleton, Albert –

Son of Herbert and Ann Shackleton; husband of Annie M. Shackleton of 59, Campbell Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire; later of 89, Lorne Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Severely crushed when buried in a trench at Gallipoli, treated at hospitals in Cairo, Birmingham and Bolton. Developed dysentery and complications and died at Bolton Royal Infirmary. Interred in Farnworth Cemetery 06/03/1916.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, of 178, Hall Lane, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 52492, 52nd Bn., Cheshire Regiment.

Simpson, Edward –

Son of Mr and Mrs. Simpson, of 62, Fylde Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Reported as wounded and missing and subsequently presumed killed.

Thomason, Ernest –

Son of John and Hannah Thomason, of 41, Rawson Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Farnworth Gasworks. Posted missing since 16/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Memorial in Farnworth Cemetery.

Thornley, James –

Son of James Thornley, of 49, Bentley Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire.

Yates, Moses –

Husband of Sarah Jane Yates, of 135, Cemetery Road, Kearsley, Lancashire, and formerly of 34, Macdonald Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Returned from America to rejoin his regiment as a reservist at the outbreak of war. Died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, received in the Dardanelles, but died shortly after arrival at hospital in Alexandria.
