Entwistle, James Henry –

Son of William and Martha Ellen Entwistle, of 321, Manchester Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted from his brother’s address at 6, Entwistle Street, Swinton, Lancashire. Taken prisoner of war 23/04/1917 and in hospital suffering from fever and rheumatism. Died from inflammation of the kidneys.

NOTE:- Served as Absalom HEATON. Husband of Mrs. Evans, of 81, Darley Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 4, Railway View, Farnworth, Lancashire. Wounded twice previously.

Feeney, Wilfred Joseph –

Son of Patrick and Bridget Feeney, of 65, Kent Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Died of wounds at a field ambulance in France.

Ferguson, Henry –

Husband of Alice Maud Pomfret (formerly Ferguson), of 79, Darley Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing since La Bassee 22/12/1914 and subsequently presumed killed.

Fisher, Francis William –

Son of the late James William and Ellen Fisher (nee Challinor), of The Grove, Waterloo, Liverpool, Lancashire, and formerly of Gladstone Villa, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Enlisted 1914.

Fishwick, Thomas –

Son of the late Edward and of Ellen Fishwick (nee Massey), of 39, Victoria Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted in 1914. Posted missing since 09/08/1915 in the Dardanelles and subsequently presumed killed.

Fitzgerald, James –

Son of James and Catherine Fitzgerald, of 153, Bridgewater Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Reported missing and subsequently presumed killed. St. Gregory’s R.C. Church, Farnworth.

Flanagan, Edward –

Husband of Isabella Flanagan (nee Moran), of 10, Hibbert Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1914. Severely wounded 05/10/1915 in the forehead and eyes and died without recovering consciousness.

Fletcher, Harold –

Son of John and Eliza Alice Fletcher, of 6, Darley Avenue, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Hunt’s Bank, Manchester offices of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Enlisted May 1915. Memorial in Radcliffe Parish Churchyard.

Foley, John Edward –

Son of Thomas and Catherine Foley, of 30, Charles Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 6th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Previously wounded at Gallipoli. Killed by a shell whilst going out to bandage a wounded corporal.

Son of John Dyson Fort and Jane Elisabeth Fort, of 7, Markland Square, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 37048, 3rd Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died from bronchial pneumonia.
