Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Hainey, of 7, Chatsworth Street, Walkden, Lancashire; husband of Beatrice Hainey (nee Marsh), of 35, Bentinck Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Died in 15th General Hospital, Alexandria from dysentery and haemorrhage.

Son of Joseph and Mary Alice Hall, of 167, Cawdor Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire, and later of 1, Blackshaw Lane, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 38330, Cheshire Regiment. Died from shrapnel wounds to the right hand and leg. Memorial in Great Lever (St. Michael) Churchyard.

Son of Hannah and the late John Halliwell, formerly of the Bridgewater Arms, Farnworth, Lancashire. Nephew of and resided with Mr. T. Stones, licensee of Black Horse Hotel, 57-59, Higher Market Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Memorial in Farnworth Cemetery.

Hardy, Robert –

Son of William and Hannah Hardy, of 12, Matthew Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Of 3, Worsley Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Taken prisoner of war 26/02/1917 suffering from the shattering of the right leg and arm and left side of the forehead.

Hargreaves, John William –

Son of John Hewitt and Frances Hargreaves, of 92, Cawdor Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. A Lewis gunner, he was at his post near Ypres in the front-line trench with his gun when he was killed by a trench mortar.

Harrison, Robert –

Son of Mrs. Harrison, of 16, Markland Square, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1915. Formerly 16603, 9th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded on the Somme and transferred to the Manchesters on recovery. Killed when shot by a sniper whilst attending to a wounded comrade.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Hayes, of 15, Lark Hill, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died in a field ambulance whilst being operated on for a gun shot wound in his right leg. Step-brother Harry Allen served in France.
