Son of Thomas and Amelia Openshaw; husband of Ellen Openshaw, of 9, Hampton Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire.

Son of Mrs. O’Rourke, of Montreal, Canada; husband of Prudence O’Rourke, of 22, Devon Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Reported as Canadian Royal Highlanders.

Son of Jacob and Sarah Ann Parker, of 147, Hall Lane, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Two brothers served in the Welsh Regiment. Acting Bombardier at time of his death.

Brother of Mrs. Dunn, of 38, Whoolden Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly 3084, Cheshire Regiment.

Partington, Thomas –

Son of Thomas Partington, of 12, Mill Street, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Nephew of a lady residing at 153, Bradford Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died of Wounds (gunshot wound to head) at No.12 General Hospital, Rouen. Brother of E Ryan of Little Lever, reported presumed killed 31/01/1919.

Paynter, Charles E –

Son of William Charles and Elizabeth Paynter, of 135, Cawdor Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Previously worked for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Burnden Engine Shed. Captured prisoner of war 25/09/1914. A career soldier, served since December 1899, including South African Campaign.

Son of James and Alice Ann Pendlebury, of Farnworth, Lancashire; husband of Mary Jane Pendlebury, of 46, Clarence Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died of Malaria in Salonika.

Place, James –

Son of Mary Place, of 18, Leinster Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Andrew Place; husband of Florence Gorton (formerly Place), of 123, Kildare Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly worked as a telegraphist and sorter at Bolton Post Office. Died of Malaria at Morogoro Military Hospital in German East Africa.

Son of Mary Place, of 18, Leinster Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Andrew Place; husband of Mary Place, of Grove Cottage, Nob End, Little Lever, Lancashire. Formerly 4601, Monmouthshire Regiment. Died in a London hospital from wounds received in France.
