Husband of Mrs. Rostron, of 11, Green Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Sister resided at 36, Elizabeth Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1914. Shot whilst attempting to rescue a Bolton man wounded as they were clearing Germans from a trench at Bazentin-le-Petit.

Of 1, Markland Square, Farnworth, Lancashire. Two brothers served and were wounded.

Son of Mrs. Royle, of Albion Street, Rochdale, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Royle, of 40, Blindsill, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire, and formerly of 21, Lower Street, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Wounded by shrapnel in the right leg in October 1916.

Ryan, William Francis –

Son of John Ryan, of 13, Cross Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Emigrated to Canada about 1911. Reported missing and subsequently confirmed wounded and prisoner of war at Limburg. Died in hospital in Coblenz, Germany. St. Gregory’s R.C. Church, Farnworth.

Scott, John Charles –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Scott, of 127, St. James Street, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Service number recorded as 41787 on Medal Card, 41877 on SDGW and 41878 on CWGC. Died from septic poisoning in hospital at Edinburgh following amputation of his wounded lef, and interred in Farnworth Cemetery.

Seddon, Alfred Hope –
