Eldest son of Robert and Maria Rachel Settle, of 4, Harper Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire, and formerly of 19, Clifton Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Served on HMS Africa and HMS Indomitable, including the Battle of Jutland.
Shackleton, Albert –
Son of Herbert and Ann Shackleton; husband of Annie M. Shackleton of 59, Campbell Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire; later of 89, Lorne Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Severely crushed when buried in a trench at Gallipoli, treated at hospitals in Cairo, Birmingham and Bolton. Developed dysentery and complications and died at Bolton Royal Infirmary. Interred in Farnworth Cemetery 06/03/1916.

Shaw, Joseph –
Son of Isaac and Susannah Shaw, of 11, Lee Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915, but discharged as under age. No overseas service. Medically examined 17/09/1918 and found to be permanently and totally unfit for any form of military service. Died aged 19 years 18/02/1919 at Rainhill Asylum and interred in Farnworth Cemetery 24/02/1919 in grave NC. 2300. ALL DETAILS NEED VERIFYING.
