Son of the late Mr. William Bone, of Melbourne, Australia, and formerly of Horwich, Lancashire.

Brandwood, Arthur –

Son of John and Margaret Brandwood, of 2, Cambridge Road, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. Resided at 12, Wardle Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Police Constable 42 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 15/04/1909 before enlisting for military service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/165). Promoted Corporal 25/05/1917. A brother, Jack, served in France.

Briggs, Harold –

Son of James and Mary Briggs, of Aughton House, Eckersley Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1909-1912) and of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Formerly Private 2685, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Brocklehurst, John Thompson –

Son of Josephus Higginbotham Brocklehurst, Sanitary Inspector for Horwich, and Sarah Brocklehurst (nee Thompson), of 29, Longworth Road, Horwich, Lancashire.

Bromilow, Daniel –

Son of George and Mrs. Bromilow, of Latham Row, Horwich, Lancashire. Reported missing aged 20. Name mistakenly reported as BROMLEY in BJ&G. Birth and Enlistment wrongly recorded as “Harwich” on SDGW.

Brown, Frederic Holifield –

Son of Frederick James and Charlotte Ellen Brown, of Inglewood, The Avenue, Bushey, Hertfordshire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Wounded by gunshot in the face 09/02/1915 near Hemmel. Died 26/11/1918 aged 33 years.

Brownhill, Albert Victor –

Of 1, Summer Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 07/07/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Buckley, Arthur –

Grandson of Mrs. Buckley, of 2, Land Fold, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Wounded in the back and shoulder 15/07/1916. On the rolls of honour of Horwich Moor Primitive Methodist Sunday School, and Christ Church, Heaton. His brother Percy also fell.

Bunting, John Frederick –

Husband of Alice Bunting, of 67, Corson Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915. Reported wounded, then missing and subsequently presumed killed.

Of 13, Dickinson Street East, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Horwich Loco Works. Posted missing since 28/07/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.
