Police Constable 42 of the Bolton County Borough Police since 15/04/1909 before enlisting for military service. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/165). Promoted Corporal 25/05/1917. A brother, Jack, served in France.

Son of George and Mrs. Bromilow, of Latham Row, Horwich, Lancashire. Reported missing aged 20. Name mistakenly reported as BROMLEY in BJ&G. Birth and Enlistment wrongly recorded as “Harwich” on SDGW.

Brown, Frederic Holifield –

Son of Frederick James and Charlotte Ellen Brown, of Inglewood, The Avenue, Bushey, Hertfordshire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Wounded by gunshot in the face 09/02/1915 near Hemmel. Died 26/11/1918 aged 33 years.

Buckley, Arthur –

Grandson of Mrs. Buckley, of 2, Land Fold, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Wounded in the back and shoulder 15/07/1916. On the rolls of honour of Horwich Moor Primitive Methodist Sunday School, and Christ Church, Heaton. His brother Percy also fell.
