Son of James A. and Elizabeth Metcalfe, of 190, New Street, Blackrod, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Enlisted September 1914.

Myers, Norman –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Myers, of 7, Dale Street, Horwich, Lancashire. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Formerly employed at the Horwich Loco Works.

Norcross, Robert –

Son of Odadiah and Ann Norcross (nee Moulding), of 21, Mercia Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 09/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Ouldcott, Ernest –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ouldcott, of 252, Back Chorley New Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Previously Private / Sergeant 251/1281, 4th Bn. Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, the Horwich Territorials. Wounded 14/09/1915. Reported missing since 08/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Father served in the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, and was discharged with wounds.

Of 7, Brindle Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a melter in the brass foundry at Horwich Loco Works. Enlisted 1915. Formerly Private 32412, Reserve Regiment of Cavalry and 2nd/1st Northumberland Hussars Yeomanry.

Ranoe, Charles James –

Son of John Charles and Elizabeth Ellen Ranoe (nee Lindsay), of 14, Mount Pleasant Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly an apprentice fitter at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Formerly Private 1630, 1st/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded accidentally by gunshot to right hand 11/07/1915. NOTE: Served as JAMES Ranoe.

Roebuck, William Harold –

Son of William and Grace Roebuck, of 334, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of 312, Chorley New Road, and 42, Richmond Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Qualified as a pilot at Military School, Ruislip 26/04/1917 in a Maurice Farman biplane. Graded 1st Class Pilot 05/06/1917. Reported missing 11/09/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.
