Son of Thomas Aldred, of Boothstown, Lancashire, and the late Alice Aldred; husband of Mabel Aldred, of 29, Leigh Road, Boothstown, Lancashire. Formerly 54299, Welsh Regiment.

Allen, Frank Bernard –

Son of Albert and Elizabeth Ann Allen, of 78, Park Street, Peel Green, Patricroft, Lancashire.

Andrew, John Thomas –

Son of Elias and Lois Andrew, of 312, Manchester Road, Walkden, Lancashire, and formerly of 2, Blantyre Avenue, Walkden, Lancashire. Service number incorrectly recorded as G/1017 on CWGC. Z/1017 confirmed against Medal Card.

Of 9, Mangnall’s Fold, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Formerly 33229, 10th Bn., Welsh Regiment.; formerly 40151, 12th Bn., Gloucestershire Regiment.

Ash, Joseph –

Husband of Harriet Ash (nee Bent), of 27, Chatsworth Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted 1914. Suffered valvular disease of the heart. Died 15/05/1922 aged 39 years and interred at St. Paul’s Churchyard, Walkden on 20/05/1922.

Baines, James –

Son of the late Aaron and Mary Baines, of 37, Albert Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Served in the South African Campaign.

Barham, John Stanley –

Son of David and Ada Jane Barham, of 89, Manchester Road, Walkden, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School (as Stanley Barham in “Supera” school magazine). Enlisted April 1915. Died of gunshot wounds in both thighs and the right arm at a Canadian Auxiliary Clearing Station in France.

Barlow, Walter –

Son of James and Hannah Barlow; husband of Norah Barlow, of 120, Worsley Road, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Formerly an employee of the Worsley Road branch of the Walkden Co-Operative Society as assistant grocery manager. Enlisted Feburary 1916. Reported wounded and missing since 18/08/1916 and subsequently presumed to have been killed.

Son of William George and Mary Ellen Barrett, of 20, Dagmar Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Killed at La Boiselle.
