Harrop, Joseph Arnold –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrop, of 76, Tynes Bank, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company in the clerical department at Hunts Bank, Manchester. Enlisted April 1917, Training Reserve Bn. Reported as Arnold Harrop in F&WJ.

Higginbottom, Jeremiah (Jerry) –

Son of Samuel and Emma Higginbottom, of Vicarage Farm, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. A member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Recorded as Jerry on SDGW.

Higginbottom, Walter –

Son of Joseph and Lilla Higginbottom, of 12, Mill Brow, Worsley, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a clerk at the Bridgewater Offices. Enlisted August 1914. Captured prisoner of war April 1918 at St. Quentin. Died from influenza in the Imperial Fortress Hospital, Strasbourg.

Higginbottom, Frank –

Son of Robert and Rachel Higginbottom, of 118, Bridgewater Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Accidentally killed in the performance of his duty in the Mediterranean.

Hindley, James –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hindley, of 75, Harriet Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Badly wounded in the chest and spine 02/10/1918, from which he subsequently died.

Hindley, Thomas –

Son of John and Jane Hindley, of 47, Vicars Hall Lane, Boothstown, Lancashire.

Hodgkiss, Ernest –

Son of Annie Hodgkiss, of 33, Walkden Road, Walkden, Lancashire, and the late Adam Hodgkiss. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Enlisted November 1915. Died of pneumonia at the 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham.

Son of Harry and Alice Hodson, of 106, New Earth Road, Walkden, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Hodson, of 45, Old Clough Lane, Walkden, Lancashire. Formerly of 278, Bolton Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915.

Holcroft, Peter –

Son of John and Jane Holcroft; husband of Hilda Holcroft, of 1, Old Hall Lane, Worsley, Lancashire.

Holmes, Joseph Evans –

Son of Peter and Alice Holmes, of 21, Manchester Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Wounded 21/10/1916.

Horrocks, Thomas –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Horrocks, of 262, Walkden Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1917. Reported missing 23/03/1918 and subsequently presumed killed.

Howard, Harry –

Husband of Margaret Howard, of 15, Blantyre Avenue, Walkden, Lancashire, and formerly of 50, Newearth Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1915. Died of pneumonia aged 41 years on 15/12/1919.
