An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute. Formerly 28th Bn., London Regiment. Died from shell wounds to the head and shoulder at No.1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, St. Venant, Pas de Calais.

Formerly employed by William Walker and Sons, Rose Hill Tannery. Enlisted April 1916. Posted missing since 20/09/1917 and subsequently presumed killed. Victoria Wesleyan.

Son of the late James and Mary Ellen Davies of 2, Belvoir Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Native of Tonge Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Injured by a motor on 30/05/1915 and had a foot amputated in a hospital in Boulogne.

Husband of Florence Dean (nee Corns), of 46, Trafalgar Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 146 Hollingreave Road, Burnley, Lancashire. Formerly of 210, Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously PC172 of the Bolton County Borough Police from 14/01/1910 until resignation 23/04/1913. (Bolton Archives: ABJ/22/173) Served as acting Sergeant during war service. Discharged due to valvular disease of the heart. Died 02/12/1918 aged 32, residing at 16, Hengist Street, Bolton, Lancashire and interred 06/12/1918 in Breightmet (St. James) Churchyard.
