Son of Mrs. Mary Lythgoe, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Teresa Griffiths (formerly Lythgoe), of 14, Whitby Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported as Lance Corporal in BC and BJ&G. Missing since 26/10/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Makin, Henry –

Of 22, Moore Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1915. Killed by severe wounds from the premature explosion of a bomb.

Makinson, Harold Shaw –

Son of Joseph and Florence Makinson, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Emily Makinson, of 48, Daisy Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Over 21 years service in the Royal Navy. Killed in an explosion. Body not recovered for burial. Reported as Harold Shaw in BC.

Mather, James –

Son of William Henry and Alice Mather (nee McDona), of 62, Sloane Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 24, Woodbine Road, Morris Green Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 09/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Mather, William –

Son of Alfred and Emma Mather, 77, Randal Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. First of two sons killed within a month, a third served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in France.

McFarland, Albert –

Son of Andrew and Nancy Jane McFarland (nee Fogg); husband of Elizabeth Alice McFarland, of 3, Sunninghill Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3447, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded 22/09/1917 by gunshot to the shoulder. Often recorded as McFARLANE.

Meadowcroft, George –

Son of John and Margaret Alice Meadowcroft, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Jane Davies (formerly Meadowcroft), of 20, Oak Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Later of 43, Oak Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Stoker SS/110395 (Dev.). Body not recovered for burial. Recorded as Stephen on Bolton Roll of Honour.

Middlehurst, William –

Husband of Bertha Middlehurst, of 27, Caledonia Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded on 11/04/1917 and died the following month.

Moss, Thomas –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. James Moss, of 98, Blackledge Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Harriett. Moss (nee Henshall), of 59, Woolwich Street, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and formerly of 33, Daisy Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died of disease (dysentery) at Amara, Mesopotamia.
