Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shippobottom, of 85, Station Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Of Kearsley Mount House, Manchester Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Played football as a full back for Bolton Wanderers. Previously served as Corporal GS/1926 in the 26th (Bankers) Bn., and 31st Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Commissioned 26/06/1917. Fatally wounded by a gunshot to the head. Surname recorded as Shippobotton on SDGW.

Son of George T. and Jane E. Stones, of 318, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914. Formerly 025075, Royal Army Service Corps. Died of severe wounds to the chest received 26/06/1918, and pneumonia, at 55th General Hospital, Boulogne, France.

Son of George and Mary Swingewood (nee Smith); husband of Emmin Swingewood, of 73, Slackey Brow, Kearsley, Lancashire. Formerly South Lancashire Regiment. Enlistment wrongley reported as Royal Scots in BJ&G under the name Livingewood. Died at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, Hampshire. Memorial in Little Lever Methodist Churchyard.

Tyldsley, William –

Son of Mrs. Tyldsley, of Back Tonge Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted aged 15 in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment from Antelope Street. His mother had him released after 11 months. Re-enlisted at Warrington aged 17«. Died of Appendicitis in hospital in England.
