Barwise, Harold –

Son of Ellen Barwise, of 109, King Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Thomas Barwise. Enlisted May 1917. Formerly 35808, East Surrey Regiment. Reported missing 17/04/1918, reported prisoner of war in letter of August 1918. When not returned following the Armistice, the Red Cross discovered he had died from ‘bodily weakness and heart disease’ and been interred in a hospital cemetery at Erquelinnes.
