He had been in training at Curragh Camp for the previous four months and come home on leave 13/07/1917 following 2 weeks in hospital with a sprained ankle following an accidental fall. Interred 19/07/1917 at Bolton (Heaton) Cemetery. Recorded as 1st Reserve Regiment. of Lancers on Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour. Also recorded as Stanley Raymond Croft in local newspaper.
