Previously enlisted at Bolton 15/09/1915 as Private 6848, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Transferred to 42nd Provision Bn 15/05/1916 until discharged as medically unfit 22/11/1916. Subsequently re-enlisted Welsh Regiment and transferred to Training Reserve Bn. Home service only on both periods of service. Died in hospital at Kinmel Park, Rhyl.
