Enlisted June 1915, as Private 5386, 4th/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 26 as an absentee from 4th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment at Heaton Park Camp since 27/07/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 30/07/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort.
