Son of Thomas R. and Rachel German, of Canal Head, Kendal, Westmorland. A brother resided at 15, Ruby Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Whilst taking part in operation near the Yser Canal Bank at Ypres, he was instantly killed by a shell.
