Son of Alfred and Emily Hadfield (nee Breffitt), of Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire; husband of Henrietta Hadfield (nee Lovett), of 2, Madeline Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 33, Cawdor Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly Private 6863, East Yorkshire Regiment. Wounded by gunshot in the back 30/09/1917 and treated at the Queen Mary’s Hospital, London. His brothers Pte. G. Hadfield and Pte. F. Hadfield reported in F&WJ to have been killed in the war, and another, Seaman E. Hadfield reported prisoner of war.
