Formerly Private 6863, East Yorkshire Regiment. Wounded by gunshot in the back 30/09/1917 and treated at the Queen Mary’s Hospital, London. His brothers Pte. G. Hadfield and Pte. F. Hadfield reported in F&WJ to have been killed in the war, and another, Seaman E. Hadfield reported prisoner of war.
