Son of James and Emma Hoyle, of 93, Church Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Formerly 8604, “A” Company, No.3 Platoon, 17th Bn., Manchester Regiment. Later 3rd Bn., Manchester Regiment as marksman and musketry instructor. Died at Colsterdale Officers POW Camp, near Masham, Yorkshire, from pneumonia. Interred at Bury Cemetery on 10/12/1918.
