Caught as an absentee from Chyngton Camp, Seaford since 04/08/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 08/08/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27). Wounded at Vimy Ridge and Messines. Wounded by gunshots to the left arm 21/07/1917.
