Caught aged 22 as a deserter from Hennings Camp, Tidsworth since 19/07/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/07/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26). Saw service in Salonika before being wounded in April 1918.
