Myers, Elam –

Son of John and Emma Myers. Of Knowsley Cottage, Ainsworth, Lancashire. In iron foundry worker who despite twice being seriously injured whilst working, once in the legs and feet, and once in the face by hot metal, he secured acceptance into the army, being trained to shoot using his better left eye and shoulder. Wounded July 1916 “having had an arm blown off.”
