An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1907-1913). Enlisted December 1914. Formerly Private PS/5417, 20th Bn., Royal Fusiliers; formerly Lance Corporal 81772, Labour Corps. Wounded 21/07/1916 by shrapnel in the right leg. Commissioned 26/05/1917.
