Caught as an absentee from Lytham since 08/04/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 13/04/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27). Wounded and hospitalised at Kent. Posted missing and subsequently presumed killed.
