Of 46, Queen Street, Chester, Cheshire and formerly resided at Rose Cottage, Winton, Eccles, Lancashire. An ex-corporal of the Worsley Troop of the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry, he re-enlisted as a Private soon after the outbreak of war aged 48 years. Home service only. Died in a Midland hospital of illness (tubercular laryngitis) caused by his military service.
